Encryption should be a choice you make, not a constraint you live with.
Your regular Faral email is already private — hosted in the EU, on our infrastructure, away from big tech. VaultMail adds a layer where even we can't read your messages.
Everything is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers. We never see your passphrase. We can't access your mail — not because we choose not to, but because it's impossible.
Use regular email when it's fine. Switch to VaultMail when it matters. Same interface — just click the shield icon.

We can't read it
Your messages are encrypted on your device before they leave your browser. We never have access — by design, not by policy.
Fully separate
VaultMail has its own inbox, sent, and drafts. Everything is encrypted — including drafts you haven't sent yet.

This is also where the technical detail lives: our email runs on Stalwart with JMAP, real-time messaging on NATS, video calls on LiveKit, calendars and contacts via CalDAV and CardDAV, file sync via WebDAV, and identity via OIDC. All open standards, all interoperable.
Faral's code will be open source
We're building Faral to be open source — not because it's expected, but because it's the only honest way to back up claims about privacy and security. The codebase is a work in progress and not public yet.
When it's ready, it will be available on our self-hosted Forgejo instance — because even our source control runs on European infrastructure.
